Custom Pacifier ClipsHow to make pacifier clip Every mother and father of a newborn knows precisely how often their baby loses his or her pacifier: it falls out of the mouth, the baby spits it out, or perhaps he or she chucks it; either way, it gets a bit tedious and expensive replacing it every-other-day. There is a painless, easy, cheap way to create a pacifier clip with just a few household materials: 15 inches of ribbon; pacifier clip; thread and hot glue; about an inch of velcro. Now that the items are in place, here are the easy steps to making a pacifier: cut the ribbon to 15 inches if it isn't already. Get the clip ready, and thread the ribbon in to the fully opened clip. Cut the tape twice as long as the ribbon (thirty inches). Fold the tape placing it inside of the ribbon. Again, if it is not already, make sure the ribbon is threaded into the open portion of the clip, beginning at the top. Next, attach the loop to the ribbon, threading it a second time if desired; make sure it is stabilized in the mid-section so it does not slide around. Now that it is folded a second time, it is now time to sew with clear nylon thread one portion of the ribbon to the other (the top of the fold). Begin sewing on the side, then the top, and lastly the other side. If a fine thread is not used, holes will proliferate throughout the ribbon. Now the ribbon should look like one seamless entity because it has been stitched together. One can either choose snaps or velcro depending on the material of the ribbon. For velcro, make sure to fold in an S-shape toward the back of the ribbon, and do not yank to harshly because the stitches may rip out. Now, sew the velcro into the ribbon, then it is time to stitch around the velcro piece. Lastly, adjust the ribbon inside to make a C shape. When all the velcro is sewn on, the loop should hold the pacifier steadily in place. It may be necessary to seek pictures, to aid in the process, available online through many sources. Creating one’s own pacifier clip may not be recommended for people that aren't crafty in general because the process requires measuring, sewing, twisting, creating shapes, and then perhaps a design to bring it to life. Maybe it is wise to allow a craftsman to do the work. There are a large variety of pacifier clips available in the following designs and colors: pink and white polka-dot, pink carnival stripes, hot watermelon stripes, cotton candy, tutti fruity, and those are only some of the styles available online. If one considers the price of an average pacifier clip, which is somewhere in the neighborhood of ten dollars or so, the materials, unless laying around the house already, will cost just about that much anyway. Although you can make your own pacifier clips, if you just want to purchase one, visit www.paciclips.com for wide selections of pacifier clips.
